Bass Harbor Light, located within Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island, is one of the the most photogenic lights on the east coast of the United States.
With its distinctive fourth-order red lens,dating from 1858, Bass Harbor Head Light guards the entrance to Blue Hill Bay. It's easily accessible, but you can't actually get inside the structure, which is operated by the Coast Guard.
